Local Government
Excellence Network
The Local Government Excellence Network (LGEN) is a free networking and knowledge sharing forum for councils interested in pursuing excellence. It provides a space for members to come together, learn from each other, and explore various topics.
Bi-monthly meetings include discussing various topics of interest. Past sessions have covered:
- Embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals across organisations.
- Changes to the IP&R Guidelines – an Open Forum Discussion.
- Digitising Self-Assessments to Optimise Council Performance.
LG Process Architecture Working Group
The group was established in June 2021 with the objective of developing a national model for Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) in local governments. The group conducts research, assessments, consultations, and knowledge sharing to create a reference database of local government processes.
Thrive’s goal is to create a reference database of Local Government processes that will serve as an industry standard for councils in Australia and potentially beyond. This resource will be freely accessible and allow councils to benchmark themselves and establish appropriate processes. Through this initiative, we aim to reduce costs associated with customisation.
We have already made progress in setting up a framework for the LG Process Architecture Working Group, taking guidance from the APQC. We now seek the expertise of Local Government employees to review and refine the framework, making it suitable for our Australian context. If interested, please email us to get involved.
